How We Work

At the start of each school year, every student meets with their assigned guidance counselor for an introductory check-in. This annual “minute meeting” allows us to get to know each student and understand what the upcoming year may hold for them.

During these meetings, we ask students about:

• How their school year is going so far

• How things are within their friend groups

• Any hobbies or interests, both in and out of school

• Trusted adults in their lives

Additional check-ins may be initiated by teachers, parents, or students as needed throughout the year.

Our Commitment

At EMS, we are here for all students, providing support for everyone. Each student stays with the same counselor throughout their time at EMS, building a continuous and supportive relationship.
