Congratulations to CTE student Kaiden Fisher, who became Thunder Road’s youngest King of the Road champion on September 13. The 16-year-old finished seventh in the 65th Thunder Road Championship Night, which clinched his spot as King of the Road in the late model division season-long points standings.
In winning the King of the Road honors, Fisher overtook Joey ‘The Kid’ Kourafas who was 21 when he won the Late Model championship in 1974. Fisher’s championship run also marks just the third father/son duo to win the King of the Road, joining Joey Laquerre/Joey Laquerre Jr. and Bobby Dragon/Scott Dragon on the 65-year-old list.
This isn’t the first time that Fisher has made history at Thunder Road. Just last year he became the youngest winner in the track’s Late Model history with a win as a 15-year-old on June 29, 2023.
