EHS Honor Roll
Honor Roll students have a grade of B or better in every class. Essex High School does not weight grades or rank students. The GPA calculation uses the grade conversion table (see right) to assign grade point values (0-4.3) to final course grades before averaging. (This table was changed from previous versions in 2018-2019.)
Starting in 2018-2019 grades are reported as letter grades and the requirement for passing shifts from a grade of 70 to 60. Grades were previously reported numerically on a 0-100 scale.
Latin Honors for Seniors
EHS uses the Latin honors system to recognize 12th grade students at or near the top of their class.
Summa Cum Laude = GPA 4.1+
Magna Cum Laude = GPA 3.9+
Cum Laude = GPA 3.7+
RELEASE DATES
The Q1 Honor Roll for Essex High School was released December 2023.
The Q2 Honor Roll for Essex High School was released February 2024
